Here is the weekly review of the top performing Central African players, who play currently abroad.
#1. This week's number one is an international power forward
Johan Grebongo (204-94, currently plays in France). He led
Mulhouse to an easy victory against the 11th-ranked Besancon (6-16)
85-70 in the French NM1 (third division) in Saturday night's game.
Grebongo had a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting 10 rebounds in 34 minutes on the court.
Mulhouse Pfastatt (10-12) is placed tenth in Group B.
There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.
It's Grebongo's fourth season with the team.
He has relatively good stats this year: 12.9ppg, 7.1rpg, 1.3apg, 2FGP: 60.1%(95-158), 3FGP: 30.6% and FT: 60.5% in 22 games he played so far.
Grebongo is currently a member of the Central African senior national team.
#2. Second place goes to an international power forward
Jimmy Djimrabaye (202-92, currently plays in France). He contributed to an easy victory against one of league's weakest teams Saint-Quentin (4-13)
80-65 in the French ProB (second division) last Friday.
Djimrabaye scored 7 points.
Quimper UJAP (13-4) is placed second in the ProB.
It was his team's eighth consecutive victory in a row.
This season Djimrabaye averages: 6.0ppg, 3.6rpg, 2FGP: 50.7%, 3FGP: 31.3% and FT: 83.3%.
He is in the roster of the Central African senior national team.
#3. The Central African player who performed third best last week abroad was an experienced international guard
Kurt Wegscheider (193-1, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA. Wegscheider could not help the
N.Mexico (5-3) to beat the San Diego State University (9-0). It was not his best game last Wednesday.
Wegscheider scored only 2 points in 7 minutes on the court.
His team was crushed
85-57 on the road by the State University.
This year Wegscheider averages just 1.4ppg, 2FGP: 66.7%, 3FGP: 33.3% in 11 games.
He is also a member of the Central African senior national team.
#4. Forward
Saladine Ganda (203, currently plays in NAIA) was not able to help the
La Sierra University (0-0) in their game against the Antelope Valley University in the CalPac. Ganda's contribution was not very remarkable in Saturday's game.
He scored only 2 points.
His team was defeated
88-75 in Lancaster by the Antelope Valley University.
This season Ganda averages just 1.4ppg.
He used to play for the Central African national team
back in 2017.
